Your Day-to-Day Tasks will be:

– Assist operator in setting up press for single/multi color work.

– Including, but not limited to, hanging plates, setting up and loading feeder, adding ink into fountains, mixing ink.

– While press is running, prepare for the next job, as to minimize the amount of time the press is stopped. Look for paper and ink for next job.

– Keep feeder operational and pre-loaded during press run.

– Maintain proper level of ink in fountains during press run.

– Move loads from delivery if pressman requires.

– Assist operator in wash-up and preparation for next job.

– Remove gum plates as directed.

– If washers are not working, remove ink from fountains, clean rollers, fountains and back cylinders.

– Change blanket washers as required.

– Report any low supplies to Pressroom Supervisor.

– Monitor chemistry in dampening system.

– Keep work area net and clean. Take out trash and Gaylords DAILY.

– Clean Ink Knives DAILY.

– Leave the area as you would want it left for you.

– Follow-through with any and all requests from Head Pressman.

– Insures quality standards are met.

– Assist on other equipment or in other departments as needed/requested.

– All other duties as requested or assigned.

This Job Requires:

Ability to perform basic tasks like reading and counting.

Comfortable standing or moving for the full shift.

Teamwork and cooperative mindset.

Punctual and ready to work.

Thorough knowledge of press operations and functions.

Self-motivated willing to do “whatever it takes” to get the job done, including overtime

Good mechanical ability

Ability to read and understand written instructions

Physically able to lift and move heavy objects (80 lbs), as well as work and move in confined spaces

Flexibility and a good team player

Must understand and follow company rules regarding personal safety and the safety of others

Regular and predictable attendance is considered an essential part of the job
