Job Position: SF Press helpers.

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46256

Pay Rate: $17.00/hr.

Shift: 3:00pm -11:00pm and 11:00pm -7:00am, Monday-Friday

Will need to train on day shift for 1 week

A Press Helper, or Press Assistant, is an entry-level position in a printing or manufacturing facility responsible for supporting press operators in the production of printed materials. The specific duties can vary depending on the type of press (offset, flexographic, etc.) and the material being printed (paper, plastic, metal).

Core Responsibilities and Duties
Key duties for a press helper typically include:
Material Handling and Preparation: Loading and organizing raw materials, such as rolls of plastic or stacks of paper, onto the press. This may involve using manual or electric pallet jacks.
Machine Setup Support: Assisting the lead operator in setting up the machine for print jobs, which can involve mounting and unmounting plates and dies, installing rollers, and threading material through the press.
Ink Management: Mixing, managing, and maintaining ink levels in the press’s ink fountains, ensuring proper color and viscosity.
Quality Control: Continuously monitoring the printed material for quality, including proper color registration and accuracy, and alerting the operator to any issues or defects.
Press Operation Support: Performing basic machine operations under supervision and making minor adjustments to the press controls as needed.
Maintenance and Housekeeping: Performing routine cleaning of the press, ink systems, and the surrounding work area using solvents and other cleaning agents to maintain a safe and tidy environment.
Finishing Tasks: Counting, stacking, and packaging the finished products for transport, and completing associated quality and administrative documentation.
Safety Compliance: Adhering to all workplace safety rules and procedures, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.
