Full- Time Contract Paralegal – Newark, NJ

DiverseGOV, a division of Diverse Staffing Services, Inc., is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support a fully-funded government contract through September 28, 2026. This assignment will work on-site at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of New Jersey. This position provides critical litigation and investigative support in protecting civil and constitutional rights. You will join a mission-driven legal team dedicated to justice, fairness, and the rule of law.

Key Responsibilities

Support Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs) in civil rights investigations and litigation.

Manage case files: receive, log, organize, and track discovery materials.

Draft and prepare legal documents, pleadings, motions, and exhibits.

Perform legal research, analyze case materials, and summarize evidence.

Assist with witness interviews, deposition preparation, and trial logistics.

Maintain case calendars and deadlines; coordinate travel and meeting logistics.

Utilize databases and legal software including Relativity, CaseMap, TimeMap, Trial Director, and MS Office Suite.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate required.

Minimum two (2) years of experience supporting litigation or government legal work preferred.

Strong writing, organizational, and analytical skills.

Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOJ security clearance (background check required).

U.S. Attorney’s Office, 970 Broad Street, Newark NJ 07102
Monday–Friday | 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. | Full-time, onsite
