Description: A medical device lumping and warehouse job involves receiving, moving, and organizing medical supplies and equipment, ensuring strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include loading/unloading shipments, managing inventory, picking and packing orders, and maintaining an accurate record of all items to ensure compliance and timely delivery to healthcare facilities.
Key responsibilities
Receiving and processing: Unload incoming shipments, verify quantities against purchase orders, and inspect items for damage.
Inventory management: Organize and store products according to safety and regulatory protocols, using specialized software to track inventory and lot numbers for traceability.
Order fulfillment: Pick and pack orders for hospitals, clinics, and other clients, ensuring that all required items are included and correctly labeled.
Material handling: Move materials to various locations within the warehouse and perform cycle counts and bin audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
Safety and compliance: Follow all safety policies and procedures, including those outlined by the FDA, to maintain product integrity and a safe working environment.
Documentation: Complete all required records, logs, and documentation accurately and in a detailed manner.
Required skills and qualifications
Physical ability: Must be able to lift heavy loads (often up to 50 lbs) and perform other physical tasks associated with warehouse work.
Attention to detail: Critical for accuracy in receiving, picking, and record-keeping to prevent errors with sensitive medical products.
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other personnel.
Basic computer skills: Proficiency in using warehouse management software, data entry, and other standard computer programs.
Problem-solving: Ability to think critically and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience: Experience in a warehouse or lumping role is often preferred or required.
