The Diverse Staffing Law Clerk at this client location performs the following responsibilities:

Significant document review

Research, analyze and summarize relevant legal precedents for applicability to assigned cases; and prepare digests of points of law involved; analyze appellate records to isolate facts pertinent to distinct legal issues.  Utilize a variety of automated legal research tools to research factual and/or legal matters related to cases or programs, and to participate in electronic discovery and other assigned areas of criminal proceedings

Assist AUSAs in pretrial preparation by preparing, reviewing, summarizing, organizing, and produce voluminous discovery; notify, interview, and manage witnesses; and research case law.

Prepare presentations for court proceedings by reviewing, compiling, organizing, and indexing evidentiary exhibits through the use of software such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Trial Director.

Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must have significant document review experience

Must have a JD, bonus for passing the Bar

Prior clerkship experience, prior experience in complex criminal litigation, or prior experience in a prosecutor’s office

Proficiency with litigation and eDiscovery software such as CaseMap, Trial Director, Relativity and IPro

US Citizen who has lived in the U.S. three out of the last five years

Ability to pass an in-depth criminal background check and credit check (no collections or recent bankruptcies

Ability to pass a drug screen
