Using Social Media to Find a Job

In today’s world, it seems almost impossible to not be on at least one social media network. You probably have some friends on Facebook. Maybe you have a couple of followers on Twitter. You may even have connections on LinkedIn, but did you know that you can use social media to find a job? You have unlimited resources at your fingertips every time you login to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. Using social media to find a job is all about knowing how to connect and put yourself out there.

Engage Companies

A good way to start looking for a job on social media sites is to research and make a list of companies you think you would enjoy working at. After you have your list, begin searching for them on social sites and follow them. But, don’t be passive about it. Instead, read the content they are sharing and engage with it. Ask questions. Post your opinions. And share what they are sharing. By doing this, you can get the company to notice you and begin taking an interest in what you are saying.

Know Yourself

There is a lot of talk out there about branding these days. And it isn’t just about companies. No, as a job seeker on social media, you need to have your own personal brand.  You need to think about who you are, what you want from a job, and how you want to present yourself. Once you’ve thought about those things, start updating your profiles.

Ask for Help

Asking for help can be a little difficult sometimes, but when it comes to social media and your personal networks you shouldn’t hesitate to ask for help. Post about your skills and passions. Ask followers and anyone else listening in to help you find your dream job. Ask around to see if anyone has heard about openings that would fit your skill set. After all, social media sites are all about community.

Just because you are using social media sites for professional reasons doesn’t mean you have to give up your personality or your personal posts. In fact, it means the opposite of that. Instead of just being professional or just being personal with social postings, use this as an opportunity to show potential employers the real you.

Well, a remote job is cool enough that makes you more focus on what you do aside from that you are not that so stressful and you become independent. Those mentioned above are really helpful. Jobseekers can use cv video on applying a remote job which nowadays is accepted by the recruiters in different companies. Like here in My Job Pitch (www.myjobpitch.com) where Jobseeker sends their cv video and then the recruiters review it.
