Your Day-to-Day Tasks will be:

A CNC setup technician with a top grinder job description includes programming, setting up, and operating CNC and manual grinding machines, like a Blanchard grinder, to produce and re-sharpen precision parts.

• Machine setup and operation: Program, set up, and operate CNC and manual grinding machines to produce parts that meet specifications. This includes using grinding wheels and other tooling correctly.
• Blueprint interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to understand part requirements and tolerances.
• Quality control: Monitor the grinding process to ensure parts are accurate, uniform, and meet strict quality standards. Use precision measuring instruments like micrometers and indicators to inspect parts for defects and conformance to specifications.
• Tooling and programming: Select appropriate tools and develop custom programs for specialty tooling. Understand machine tool geometries, terminology, and grinding wheel materials.
• Maintenance and repair: Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, such as checking fluid levels. Troubleshoot and report any equipment issues to the maintenance department.
• Material handling: Load and unload materials and parts from machines. This can involve lifting and moving heavy materials.
• Documentation: Complete production and quality logs as required.
