We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team at Diverse Staffing in Indianapolis, IN. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for our diverse portfolio of clients efficiently and accurately. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of payroll systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and manage payroll for various clients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all payroll transactions.
Verify timesheets and attendance records, calculating wages and withholding taxes as required.
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees promptly and professionally.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to clients.
Ensure that all payroll updates, such as new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates, are accurately entered into the payroll system.
Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
Assist with the preparation of year-end tax documents, including W-2s and 1099s.
Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless payroll processing.
Conduct periodic audits to ensure payroll accuracy.
Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Administrator.
Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and mathematical skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
